You may create and maange more than one company file in QuickBooks Desktop. Go menu File > New Company

How do you set up two seperate companies in Quickbooks Pro 2020?

Hi there, Spudsey.

I can help with the process of setting up a new company in QuickBooks Pro. In this version, you can save multiple company files for multiple business. There's no limit to how many you can create. To create a new company file:

  1. Open QuickBooks Pro.
  2. In the No Company Open window, select Create a new company.
  3. At this point, you have two setup options:
    1. Select Express Start if you want to get started right away. You only need to enter your business name, industry, and business type to create your company file. You can enter this info later on.
    2. Select Detailed Start if you want to do a complete setup so all of your info is in from the start.
  4. Follow the onscreen steps to finish the setup.

Keep in mind, if you have an existing company file in QuickBooks, it's best to give your new one a unique name. This prevents QuickBooks from accidentally overwriting your data. Now you'll have a brand new company file to input new customers, vendors and transactions. If you have any other questions, please reach out to me here.
