You mentioned that you've already added the *.qbo.intuit.com as trusted sites. With that said, you'll have to make sure that the Enable Protected Mode is disabled or unchecked. You can follow Step 1 in this article: Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.
Aside from the suggested setup in the article, I'd also recommend disabling the pp-up blocker in the Internet Explorer. This allows you to see the pop-up pages that might require your confirmation. From there, you can proceed to the conversion process.
If you still encounter a blank screen or page, we can do browser troubleshooting steps. Cache might have contributed on this blank page issue. Though cache helps your browser's background processes run smoothly, this can also cause unexpected issues when piled up. To get rid of any cache-related issue, you'll have to open your Internet Explorer and clear the cache.

Tried all standard resolutions including disabling pop up blocker, clearing cache, restarting browser and pc, checking IE version 11, "Enable Protected Mode" is unchecked, ActiveX controls on prompt. Still didnt work. After entering the login creds the page just remains blank. Any work around please?

Appreciate the acknowledgement that this is a known issue. Would have been so much better had i been informed before making me subscribed to QB enterprise and now i cant convert my file from QB online to Enterprise and will be paying subscription for both till there is a resolution. PS: The online support is of not much use as I could get anyone on chat or for a call back. Is there a workaround?
