How to remove a primary user? She no longer works for the company

There are various ways to remove the primary user from an account, Bautista. You can either ask the primary user to transfer the role to you or another designated user, or you can submit a request to become the admin of the account. I will provide detailed information and assist you throughout this process.

 

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the primary admin role cannot be removed without assigning a new one. This is because the primary admin is the main user who has access to every part of the QuickBooks account.

 

To change the primary admin, here’s how to transfer this role to another QuickBooks user:

 

 1. Hover over the Gear icon, then hit Manage users.

2. Look for the user you want to designate as the primary admin.

3. Check if the user is listed as an Admin in the Role column; if not, select Edit to change their role to Admin.

4. Click the ellipsis icon in the Action column, and select Change primary admin.

5. To confirm, tap Change primary admin again.

6. After that, sign out of QuickBooks.
