Husband and wife are both self-employed, do we need 2 accounts?

I’m self-employed through my LLC and have been using quick books self employed version. My wife is about to launch her own LLC. My question is there anyway to track both LLC’s through the self-employed version, or will I need to get her a separate subscription?

The bookkeeping for each of your LLC's should be in separate QuickBooks accounts. You will want to track the income and expenses for each business separately. My husband and I both have our own LLC's, and we have two separate QBO accounts.

Welcome and thanks for posting your concern here in the Community, @RJNoble. Great to hear about your wife's business!

Yes, you should have two separate QB Self-employed subscription since you have 2 different LLC businesses. This is because each entity requires you to generate a 1040-ES form and Schedule C categories.

This will also effectively help you determine your estimated taxes for each self-employment business and maximize your tax deductions. Here's how to sign up for a new QBSE account:

  1. Click this link: https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login?signup=true&trial=true&promo=qbline6try
  2. Enter the necessary information in the field.
