I am unable to import my Quickbooks Desktop company into Quickbooks online. The two accounts have different users and passwords. Is that the problem?

Hi @donna-personalto.

The users and passwords won't be the cause why it wasn't importing. What's important is making sure that your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company is importing from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for the first 60 days after creation. Here's a thorough reference for the process: Before you Start- The QuickBooks Guide to Converting QBDT to QBO. It includes the technical considerations, business-specific situations to consider, and helpful links about import limitations to keep in mind.

So if your QuickBooks Online company is beyond 60 days, you might need to cancel your subscription and switch it to the new/trial QBO company with the data.

You can also contact our Customer Support team to extend the date so you can continue using the original QBO company.

This will ensure that you can start fresh and back to business. Feel free to tag me if you have other concerns with importing from desktop company file to QBO. I'll wait for your reply here. Have a nice day ahead!

@donna-personalto

Make sure you are migrating data from QBD US version to QBO US version.

https:// quickbooks.grsm.io/US
https:// quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo

If you are using QBD 2017 or older, utilize the trial license of QBD 2021 to upgrade your file prior to migrating it to QBO. Make sure your Total Targets < 350K or run the Condense Data utility.
