I am unable to pass the QBO Advanced Recertification tests (have 1 attempt left). What happens next? Can I at least retain standard (non-adv.) certification?

Frankly, my clients won't care; it's just nice to have the Advanced Cert. and after earning it in the first place, recertification shouldn't be so insanely time-consuming and difficult.

Hi @matt.henterly,

Let me share to you how the QBO Advanced Certification works, along with what happens when you no longer have any attempts left.

If you no longer have attempts left and you haven't passed the test, you'll be locked out and will have to wait for 60 days. After that period of days, you have to option to take the test again.

More details are in this article that answers common questions about the ProAdvisor Certification: Frequently Asked Questions about ProAdvisor Certification.

Don't hesitate to ask questions or clarifications if you have them. I'd be glad to help and answer them for you.

Yeah, I'm aware of the 60 day window. So I guess I'll re-ask: since my cert expires at the end of July, will I then become a "regular" certified QBO ProAdvisor for the next 60 day period?

I'm aware of the 60 day window. What I want to know is: since I don't expect to pass the recert test (I swear I'm answering some questions correctly, but whatever, I'm over it at this point); do I "fall back" to a "regular" certified ProAdvisor during the next 60 day period?

Hello there, @matt.henterly.

Allow me to provide additional clarification about the ProAdvisor Certification.

To remain a Gold Level member, you must be certified within the past 365 days for QuickBooks Online. However, it's recommended to update your QuickBooks Certification status every year to ensure you can provide the highest level of knowledge and support to your clients.

Additionally, only members who are certified in the latest version of QuickBooks are listed in the top section of the QuickBooks Find-a-ProAdvisor Website.

If you've already taken the updated exam each year to stay current with your QuickBooks Online knowledge, you'll still be on your current certification status and not fall back to a regular certified ProAdvisor.

Let me know if you have any other questions about the ProAdvisor Certification, I'm always here to help. Have a great day ahead!
