I can't customize reports with filters. When I run a report, and click the customize button on the top right, there's no filters option

When I select the button to customize a report for profit and loss, all I can change is the 'report period', 'accounting method', and then there's a drop down for 'columns', but there's no filters or anything else.

I'll help with your concern about customizing reports in QuickBooks Online, tyler.

 

It's possible that a browser issue is causing the Filter section to not show up when customizing your Profit and Loss. You can perform some steps that can resolve common browser issues when doing tasks in QuickBooks Online. 

 

First, use an incognito/private browsing session or a different browser. Follow these keyboard shortcuts to open an incognito session: 

 

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P  for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari
  • Ctrl Shift P for Microsoft Edge

 

You can also use any of these browsers if you have them installed in your computer. Once done, you can go back to QBO and check if you can already see the Filter option.

Using incognito didn't change anything. What else can I try?

You can also use another supported browser and try to customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

 

If the issue persists, I suggest contacting our support team. They have the proper tool to look on your QuickBooks account through screen sharing in a safe environment. That way they’ll be able to identify what’s causing this issue.

 

Here’s how:

 

  1. Click Help inside QuickBooks Online.
  2. Enter "can't customize reports with filters" in the Type something field
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Select either Start messaging or Get a callback
