I can't send proposals via email as of this morning. the box that has my email address, above the password box is "gray" not black. i type in password & will not send

May I ask if you receive any error message while trying to send proposals via email from QuickBooks? Any further details is much appreciated, so we can narrow down this issue.

 

Usually, when sending emails in QuickBooks, some unusual behavior occur. Some causes of these are:

 

  • Incorrect email setting

  • Damaged MAPI32.dll file

  • QuickBooks running as administrator

  • Damaged QuickBooks installation

  • Damaged Outlook installation

  • Outlook open in the background when sending email through QuickBooks

 

To resolve this, I suggest performing some other troubleshooting steps. First, you'll need to ensure that QuickBooks is not running as administrator. To achieve this, you may follow these steps:

 

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Type QuickBooks from the search. Then right-click the QuickBooks icon, then select Properties.
  4. Select the Compatibility tab.
  5. Select to uncheck the Run this program as Administrator option. If the option is grayed out, select Show Settings for All Users.
  6. Choose Apply and then OK.
  7.  Exit, then restart QuickBooks.

 

If the issue persist, I recommend checking the settings in the web mail preferences to see if its correct:

 

  1. At the top menu bar, click Edit.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Click Send Forms on the left panel.
  4. Under My Preferences tab, select the email account you're using.
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Mark the SSL box.
  7. In the Server Name field, make sure the server name matches your email provider's settings.
