I get error 103 with reconnecting to M&T bank. All other banks connect. I verified the login and password work. How else do I reconnect? Should I remove and reinstall?

You don't need to remove your bank account. I can help you re-connect M&T bank to QuickBooks Online.

 

Before we start, please know that error 103 means the user ID or password is incorrect for the bank account you’re trying to connect to.

 

Since you've already verified your bank credentials, let's perform some troubleshooting steps. Your bank may have added security, such as third-party access.

 

You can confirm this by visiting the bank’s website. Then, check if your bank has this requirement. If so, follow your bank’s instructions to turn it on.

 

If you’re trying to connect a KeyBank account to QuickBooks, here are the steps to turn on third-party access:

 

  1. Go to key.com or ibx.key.com.
  2. Sign in to the account you want to connect to QuickBooks.
  3. Select User Profile.
  4. In the Password and Security section, switch on Third Party Access.
  5. Select Yes to confirm your choice.

Once you're able to connect again your bank, QuickBooks will automatically download transactions. All you need to do is match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after you review them.

Another option, utilize the trial version of MT Online to isolate the issue. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed. If the same error persists, there is an ongoing problem at your bank or connection.
