Welcome and thanks for posting in the Community, @alicia12.

If the old master admin gets the verification, it's possible that his/her email address was entered instead of yours during the process. If that's the case, you change it with your email.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the upper right corner and select Manage Users.
  2. Choose the user you wanted to be the Master Admin and hit Edit.
  3. Under the User Type, pick the Admin.
  4. An invitation email will then be sent to the user to accept the role.

To learn more about transferring who manages your books in QuickBooks Online (QBO), consider checking out this article: Change your QuickBooks Online master admin user.

I'm also adding this article that tackles different levels of user access: User types and user permissions in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know in the comment section below if you have additional concerns. I'm more than willing to help. Have a great day!
