Thanks for trying QuickBooks Online, daniel-tzintzun-.

It's possible that the link you use is for QuickBooks Self-Employed. Let's log in to your account using this link: qbo.intuit.com.

From there, you can start exploring QuickBooks Online.

I've also added some links that have detailed information on what we can do with QuickBooks Online:

That should do it! Keep me on track if you need help. Have a good one!

thank you adrian. i gave that a try but it still redirected me to quickbooks self employed.

here is what happened.

i attempted to upgrade through one of the link provide in the help responses.

it directed me to create an account so i did and then it did.

when i realized this new account didnt migrate all info from previous account, i quickly canceled it.

now whenever i login i get 2 account options to log into.

the previous account is still locked into self employed plan while the other canceled account is online.

i attempted to walk through again through my self emp account and this time it was much more thorough when upgrading. i again entered my payment info but just recieved a confirmation that my payment went to the newly canceled account. frustrating.

I want to make sure your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account upgrade to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @daniel-tzintzun-.

Since you successfully created a QBO account but canceled it knowing that the information didn't migrate, you'll have to resubscribe your QBO account. This way, we can proceed with upgrading your QBSE account to QBO. I know that you're confused about the process, but let me help you with this.

Firstly, let's resubscribe the QBO account that you recently canceled. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your created QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Go to the Billing & Subscription menu, then select Resubscribe, and enter the updated billing information.
  4. Select Subscribe.

I'm adding this article for more details: How to resubscribe or reactivate QuickBooks Online.

Once done, you'll have to manually export your QBSE data and import it to your QBO account. This way, all of the information will migrate to your new QBO account. Let me guide you through the process.

First, download your QuickBooks Self-Employed data.

  1. In your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, select the Transactions menu.
  2. Select the transaction types, accounts, and time period you want to download from the dropdown menus.
  3. Click the download icon at the top of the transaction list.
  4. Save the file somewhere that's easy to find, like your Windows desktop.

Then, sign in to your QBO account and import the QBSE data you downloaded.

  1. In your QBO account, click the Gear icon and select Import Data,
  2. Select Bank Data, then choose Browse.
  3. Find and select the CSV file you downloaded, select Open. Then, click Next.
  4. From the QuickBooks Account ▼ drop-down menu, select the account you want to move the transactions into.
  5. Select Next.
  6. Match the statement fields from the CSV with the ones in QuickBooks Online. Then, select Next.
  7. Choose the transactions you want to move to QuickBooks Online. Then, Next.
  8. Click Yes, then Let's go.

After importing your transactions, you can now proceed with canceling your QBSE account.
