It's possible that the link you use is for QuickBooks Self-Employed. Let's log in to your account using this link: qbo.intuit.com.

thank you adrian. i gave that a try but it still redirected me to quickbooks self employed.
here is what happened.
i attempted to upgrade through one of the link provide in the help responses.
it directed me to create an account so i did and then it did.
when i realized this new account didnt migrate all info from previous account, i quickly canceled it.
now whenever i login i get 2 account options to log into.
the previous account is still locked into self employed plan while the other canceled account is online.
i attempted to walk through again through my self emp account and this time it was much more thorough when upgrading. i again entered my payment info but just recieved a confirmation that my payment went to the newly canceled account. frustrating.

Once done, you'll have to manually export your QBSE data and import it to your QBO account. This way, all of the information will migrate to your new QBO account. Let me guide you through the process.
First, download your QuickBooks Self-Employed data.
Then, sign in to your QBO account and import the QBSE data you downloaded.
After importing your transactions, you can now proceed with canceling your QBSE account.
I'm adding this article to learn more about moving QBSE data to QBO: Switch from QuickBooks Self-Employed to QuickBooks Online.
