I can certainly see how an option for including a Customer and/or Job field could be useful. I've submitted a suggestion about this to our developers.
You also have the ability to send feature requests while signed in.
Here's how:
Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development Team and considered in future updates. Product suggestions can be tracked through our Customer Feedback website.
If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
You didn't answer my questions at all actually, so I'm assuming that is a NO, this feature and report is not available. I wasn't giving you a recommendation for the software, I was inquiring about a report. Your reply was not helpful at all. I still need the report.
Hello there, @CassidyScott.
You'd want to subdivide the budget by customer when creating it in QuickBooks. This way, you'd be able to include a specific customer and/or job in customizing the Budget vs Actual report. I can guide you on how to do it.
Let's start by creating the budget. You can follow these steps:
Once completed, you can generate and customize your Budget vs Actual report.
I'm adding these articles to help you manage your budgets in QuickBooks:
Keep me posted if you have other questions about generating and customizing reports n QuickBooks. I'm just a few clicks away.
I am referring to a job/project budget, which is entered into QBO as an "estimate", not a company wide budget for the entire organization. This is for job costing and I'm trying to run an actuals vs budget report of what was budgeted for each line on a specific job and if we are over/under. Again, in QB Desktop these reports were standard and for some reason are inaccessible in the QB Online version. We migrated all of our dated from Enterprise Desktop to Online and the reporting features in this version are pretty much useless!!! Every custom report created using filters, comes up blank with no data....which is obviously incorrect.
Thank you for the additional details, CassidyScott.
QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online have different types of reports available. There are reports you can run in QBDT that are not available in QBO.
The project reports available in QBO are Project profitability, Time cost by employee or vendor, and Unbilled Time and Expenses. To access these:
