Here is the issue. Even though, my business name is correct in quickbooks , when the 940 and 941 prints, there is a hypen in the name . this is a bug and cannot be fixed functionally by the user. A member of the quick books tech team will have to delete the hypen from the quick books database. I have already been on the phone with quick books in the past and it still does not work and I just mail in the reports which is aggravation since my forms get rejected by IRS. I'm super frustrated by the lack of support
the issue is my name is correct inside of quick books for my business but when the 940/941 reports print ,they both contain a hyphen in the name. There is no way to fix this issue functionally and will require the tech team from quick books to delete the hyphen in the database. I have already followed the steps from quick books customer support many months ago and the problem still persists . I have to mail the forms in and I'm super aggravated by the lack of support. thx
Hi dannysandefur,
I get what you feel about this scenario, especially that it's tax session and you need to file the form. I would feel frustrated as well if I'll be on your situation. Rest assured that our technical team will take care of deleting the hyphen from the database.
If you need more assistance, feel free to reach back out. We're here 24/7 to make sure we won't miss your questions.
is there any update on ? how about a ticket number for tracking?
thx
hello
my company name is I-shark but for the IRS it has to be Ishark
the name in quickbooks is set to Ishark but when the 940 and 941 is ready to be sent to the IRS the name is set to I-shark on both forms , which get rejected by the IRS
I have already been on the phone with support and they could not fix the issue
there is a hypen in the database that will need to be deleted so this ticket needs IT support to fix the issue.
Thanks for the details, dannysandefur.
We can update your legal business name so you'll be able to successfully submit the 941 reports. Before doing this process, we need to turn off the E-file & Pay feature first. Please note that after updating the information, we'll need to turn this feature again and send a new authorization form with the correct name.
Here's how:
Next, update the legal business name:
Lastly, re-enroll in electronic services and send a new authorization form.
After doing these process, I recommend contacting our phone support again to verify that your business legal name is updated.
If you have follow up questions, please let me know. I'd be glad to help you further.
