You're unable to close the company, Nima.

You can let the company admin delete you as a user, so you won't see the account under your QuickBooks Companies list. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Go to Mange Users.
  3. Select the user.
  4. Click the Edit drop-down arrow, then select Delete.
  5. Select Delete to confirm.

Although, if you're the admin and the company is no longer active, you can cancel it. This way, you'll be unable to see it when you log in. I'll add the reference on what will happen after canceling your QuickBooks Online data

Reach out to us if you need our help. We'd be happy to work with you again.

Hi Kristine,

Thanks for your prompt reply. The problem is that there is no active subscription for this 2nd company. The company appeared after a colleague of mine added me as their accountant on their QuickBooks Online using my email address. I even reached out to Support via phone, and the rep said that the company would disappear from login in a week or two, this was months ago. Now I’m just really sick and tired of having to click on my primary company upon login to access it. So I thought I would revisit this in a different manner.

Any other thoughts? If I provide you with the QuickBooks company ID, would you be able to just wipe it out from your end?

Thanks for getting back, @nima.

The company will still show once you've logged in to your QBO account even if the trial subscription expires. The system will hang on to your data for up to a year.

This way, you'll have the option to access the data if you decided to come back.

The second company has no data for me to keep.

So, is there no way to just get rid of it? Such that it doesn't show upon login and add an extra step to access the system?

I appreciate you reaching us for clarifications, nima.

In QuickBooks Online, you'll need to wait for a year to totally get rid of your cancelled subscription. There isn't a way to expedite the process.

You can visit the article shared by my colleague IntuitLily to learn more about cancelling QuickBooks Online subscription.

Let me know if you've got any questions. I'm always here to help you all the way. Have a good day ahead!
