You can use our QuickBooks Desktop trial version, @cindydfrommer-gm.

Just click this link to download it: QuickBooks Desktop trial version. Once finished, you'll need to export your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Since you've mentioned you're unable to see the Export option, you can log in to your account using a private window. This is to rule out the possibility of a browser-related issue due to a full cache. Below are the shortcut keys you can use to access one:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome A63.PNG.
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox A64.PNG and Microsoft Edge A65.PNG.
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari A66.PNG.

Then, access the said option again by clicking the Gear icon ⚙️ at the top, and then refer to the Tools section.

If it works, clear your browser's cache to remove the piled up files that cause unusual QuickBooks Online behavior. If the issue persists, please use another supported browser instead.

When you're ready, you can begin exporting your QBO data to the QBDT trial version that you've just downloaded. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon ⚙️,and then pick Export Data.
  2. A pop-up window appears with a quick question about your reason for exporting. Choose your reason, and then tap Continue.

  3.  Click Learn more under Moving to QuickBooks Desktop section, then Learn more again on the Download company data section.

  4.  Hit Install ActiveX Control Now, then Get Started.
  5. Pick Install for the ActiveX control, and then Install ActiveX Control Now to confirm the installation.
  6. Once done, click Continue, then choose the date you want to export.
  7. Tap Continue at the bottom, enter the needed info, and then hit Continue again.

After that, you'll receive an email with the steps to complete the export conversion. Please see Steps 1 and 2 of this article to ensure the smooth export process of your data. Then, follow steps to 5, and you're good to go. For more info, please check out this resource: Export QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

Once successful, you can move on to the final step of importing your data to TurboTax. Please refer to this article for the detailed instructions: Import QuickBooks data into TurboTax Business.

Alternatively, you can use third-party conversion tools to help you with the process. One of our Community backers, @Fiat Lux - ASIA may have a valuable suggestion about this.

Also, you can personalize QBO to work the way you want it to. Just modify some preferences on the Account and Settings page. For more info, please review this article: Edit company settings.

Click the Reply button if you have more questions about managing your data in QBO. I'll be here to help. Take care and have a productive day, @cindydfrommer-gm.

Hi @cindydfrommer-gm,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I'll point you in the right direction for support about your query.

If you've gone through the steps provided by my colleague @ReyJohn_D above, then I suggest you get a hold of our Technical Support team for further assistance. They can investigate as to why you're missing the Export data option.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company.
  2. Click the Help menu.
  3. Select Contact us.

You can open this article for reference as well: Support hours and types. It's a list of the available product supports for Intuit, along with their operating hours. This way, you're sure you won't miss them whenever you contact support.

Direct other questions you have in the comments below. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

@cindydfrommer-gm

Have you try opening your account on incognito/private browser?

Yes I did try that and still did not see Export data under tools, all the other options were there but not Export.
