Is there a way to export out of QB 2013 Pro to QB online?

Hello there, @ddpolk-dp.

I'm glad to help you transfer your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you can export out your QBDT 2013 data to QBO. Since your QBDT version is outdated, you may need to use an upgraded/latest version of the software. But no worries, you can download a free trial version and use it in transferring your files.

Before that, secure a backup copy of your QBDT company to save the data. I'll guide you on how.

  1. Go to the File menu, then choose Back Up Company.
  2.  Click on Create Local Backup.
  3. Select Local Backup. Then, click Options.
  4. In the Tell us where to save your backup copies field, select Browse and select the location in which to save the backup copy.
  5. Hit OK.
  6. In the Create Backup window, specify whether to back up automatically, and select Options to set options for automatic backups.
  7. Tap New to set a backup schedule in the Schedule Backups dialog.
  8. Click Finish.

You can also open this article as your reference: Create a Backup of your Company File.

Once completed, you can download a free trial account of the most updated version of QBDT, then restore the backup file.

Finally, you're now ready to start migrating your data. For the detailed instructions, open this link: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

As you start working with QBO, you can check out the topics from our help articles in case you need related resources in the future.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you again. If you have any other QuickBooks questions, please feel free to add a comment below. Have a good day!

Install the trial license of QBD 2021 to open your company file and migrate it to QBO.

If it is unable to open your file, you have to install the trial license of QBD 2020.
