While there is no auto-save feature in the QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription, you can use the Save as draft option to save your work before stepping away from an invoice. This ensures that you don’t lose valuable progress if you get timed out due to inactivity.

On the other hand, if you’re using a different QuickBooks subscription (e.g., Simple Start, Plus, etc.), you can adjust the timeout duration by going to the Advanced section in Account and settings. By default, the timeout setting is set to 1 hour, but you can extend it to up to 3 hours.
