How do I link my Quickbooks Online account to my Intuit ID so I can use only one user ID for both Turbotax and Quickbooks Online?

Hello there, @marroger.
What we can do is to update your Manage Users setting and link your accounts. If your username in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is the same with TurboTax, you can simply re-trigger your accounts. I'd be glad to help you out with the process.

Here’s how:

1. Log-in to your QBO and click on the Gear icon.
2. Under Your Company column, select Manage Users.
3. Click on the drop-down arrow on the linked email, and choose Delete.
4. Refresh the page by pressing F5 on your keyboard.
5. Go back to the Manage Users page and click on the Add user button.
6. Then fill out the details needed and click Invite.
7. An e-mail will be sent for confirmation on your invite.

If your user id in QBO is different from TurboTax, make sure that your TurboTax’ credentials are already updated with the same QBO credentials, and then follow the steps 1, 2 and 5.

Feel free to read this article for more details: Manage your Intuit Account online.

If you have extra questions about the process, post a comment below. I’ll be right here to answer them. Take care.

When I sign in to my TurboTax account in order to update TurboTax’ credentials to the same as QBO credentials, an error message appears in the userid field indicating the user ID is already taken. So, how do I actually update the TurboTax userid and pw to match QBO? Thanks.

I appreciate you getting back to us, @marroger.

You'll have to use your TurboTax credentials upon signing in to your account. From there, update your email address the same with your QuickBooks Online credentials. Let me guide you how.

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax Online account.
  2. Select Intuit Account.
  3. This will take you to the Account screen.
  4. Click Edit at the right of the email address line.
  5. Enter your new email address and confirm it.
  6. Enter your password.
  7. Click Save and you're done.

I've got you an article for more details: How do I Change my TurboTax Account Email?

Once done, you can now proceed to the steps provided by my colleague @MarsStephanieL above on adding a user in QuickBooks Online.

I'm sorry to say that did not work. I went to my Turbotax online account and changed the email address to match QBO. Then, I signed in to my QBO account and went to QBO Manage Users screen. There is only one user listed which is my Master Admin. There is no delete option (step 3 in original post response) -- only Edit which simply changes my email which I don't want to do. I"m simply trying to have one signon for both Turbotax and QBO as advertised. This is very frustrating... There are still 2 user id's which I cannot link.  Apparently there's no way to actually have one ID for both. I will try to get a live person on the support line and post the results.
