Join nowIn Quickbooks Online there are 3 Types : Standard, Admin or Reports only
We would need more different Access methodes.
For a Person who has Standard Access - we would need more options for authorization.
e.g:
- Printing an Invoice and select a different style
- Run an Report on a Product
- Define special Accounts to be able to view
Is there a plan to make the User management access right more
Hello there, TornadoSurf.
For now, these are the available user types in QuickBooks Online:
You can send feedback directly to our software engineers. This is the best way for us to know our customers' ideas and preferences. The more feature a request has, the more it's likely to be added to the next update. You can do that by clicking the Gear icon, then choosing Feedback.
You can check this article for reference: Understanding user types and permissions.

This is very limiting and i agree there's insufficient ability to manage users on the Online version compared to Desktop. After switching to Online today I have learnt that if I post cheques to the system for employees salaries/wages etc even on a standard user that user can now see whats values have been posted and to who. It shows this in the expenses list, surely this isn't right !!
We need to restrict user access to specific classes. Where do I send that request to?
Hi ifctarheel,
I will personally send it to our Product Developers Team for review. In the meantime, here's a reference on how to manage users in QuickBooks Online: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/manage-users/add-and-manage-custom-users/00/186731
