MFA for O365 mail was OK. Added disable basic authentication to o365, now mail does not work in outlook from qb. Closing Outlook doesn't work. Change to web o365 doesn't

I have been using Microsoft MFA (multifactor authentication with my account for quite awhile, but yesterday, for all users under the tenant for O365, basic authentication has been disabled as per best practice! It is no longer secure. I can no longer send email from Quickbooks and I am having trouble with "not responding" etc in QB. I am not having trouble anywhere else, nor until I tried to send an email from QB. I am an IT consultant of 20 years. I tried changing QB to web mail and using outlook.office365.com instead of the Outlook program with no success. The below did not help me, either. https://help.developer.intuit.com/s/question/0D50f00005GOa38CAD/quickbooks-enterprise-outlook-integr...

Hi there, @natalie16.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I'd be glad to provide you with information about sending emails from Outlook.

If you're receiving an error message when trying to send an email to Outlook, this is usually just a settings issue.

Let's go ahead and follow these steps to get you back to business:

First, let's edit your admin privileges and make sure QuickBooks isn't set to automatically run as admin:

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu.
  3. Enter in QuickBooks into the search bar and then right-click the QB icon, select Open file location.
  4. Right-click on the QuickBooks.exe file and choose Properties.
  5. Go to the Compatibility option.
  6. Select to uncheck the Run this program as Administrator option.
  7. Go to Apply and then OK.

After going through the steps above and you're still receiving the error message, here's an article you can refer back to as well: How to fix error messages with sending emails to Outlook

Please let me know if the information above does the trick. If you have any more questions or concerns, I'm only a few clicks away. Happy Wednesday!
