My problem is the same. I followed above instructions.
Clicked QuickBooksMigrator file on flash drive
Clicked Move.QuickBooks (application)
I am asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes on your device?" I reply YES
Nothing happens. The question disappears. Nothing Happens.

I have QB Desktop Pro 2019 on old computer. (I know License and product number.)

I’m here to make sure you’re able to work on your company file on the new computer, @RickRo.
The easiest way to move your files is by creating a backup and putting it in a flash drive. Ready your product and license number and install QuickBooks Desktop on the brand new device.
Once done, you can now move the backup company file. Follow the steps to restore it on the new computer. I’m adding this resource for your reference: Restore the backup.
I’m only a couple of clicks away if you need anything else. It’s my pleasure to help. Take care!
Thank you KhimG!! Worked Great!! Since the QB Migration Tool does NOT work, I've been attempting to find a way to transfer my Business QB from my old PC to the new for almost a Year.
This is not about moving the data file. It is about migrating the full installation to a new computer. I bought mine as a download, knowing that my computer was getting old and needed to be replaced very soon. Before buying it, I actually talked to a human at Intuit [!] who assured me "no problem, just call us and we'll take care of the reinstall" or something of that ilk. Now, no humans. When I try to use the migration tool, the new computer goes as far as asking me if I want the program to make changes to my computer, but then there is a popup box that says "QuickBooks Migration failed unexpectely". Nothing else. If it helps, there are two zip files on the USB drive, and the one called "QBMigInfo" is empty. I tried it three times, using two different drives.
Hello there, @mandienewyear. I'm here to make sure you're able to install QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2020 into your new laptop and get back to business in no time.
When you're unable to utilize the migrator tool, you can download the QBDT software online and install it on your laptop as mentioned above. You just need to make sure your computer meets the system requirements. I'm here to guide you how.
After that, you can move your company file to your laptop. To do this, you'll have to first create a backup company file on your original computer. Then, move it to your new computer. You can either put the backup on a flash drive or an external device. Or you can share it if your laptop is on the same network.
Once done, restore your company file on your laptop. I'd recommend checking out this article for the step-by-step guide: Restore a backup of your company file.
Additionally, here's an article that'll further guide you on the basic workflows and tasks you can do using QBDT: Working with QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise. It includes topics about getting started with the system, moving company files, and running your business to name a few.
Please let me know if you need anything else. I'll gladly help. Take care always, @mandienewyear.
I am trying to move my Quickbooks from my old computer to a new one. The Migrator Tool did not work at all for me. I was able to install Quickbooks on my new computer but now I can't open the Quickbooks application on my old computer. Is that because I used the Migrator? How do I move the company files? I am trying to get something to my Tax person this weekend.
I want to ensure you'll be able to move your QuickBooks to a new computer.
Usually, you must be expecting any error messages when using the Migrator Tool when moving QuickBooks. If I may ask, may I know the specific issue you had when trying to open QuickBooks Desktop on the old computer? As an initial step, you can set up a multi-user network to access your company files from other computers.
You can open this link for more tips about setting up and installing a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop.
On the other hand, you can also manually reinstall QuickBooks to a new computer without using Migrator Tool. You can check out these links for your guide:
To get started with using QuickBooks on your new computer, you can also skim through the topics from our help articles. Here's the link: Find QuickBooks help articles for QuickBooks Desktop.
Please let me know how else I can help you with moving QuickBooks to a different computer. I've got your back and am always happy to help. Thanks for coming, wishing you and your business all the best.
