Multiuser and single user

I am using a MAC.  I have been using QB for a long time.  All of a sudden I can't get into one of my companies because I am apparently sharing with QB Server in multi user.  I am only a single user and always have been.  When I go to FILE the multiuser/singler user choices are not highlighted so I can

Multiuser and single user

I'll help you sort this out, @LF67.

Sharing with a QuickBooks server in multi-user mode may have caused this hurdle earlier. To fix this, I'd suggest rebuilding your company file to resolve unexpected behavior like the choice of switching to single-user mode.

Before doing so, make sure to back up your company file so that we can restore data files when we met issues while fixing QuickBooks. You can save this in safe file storage like a flash drive or on your desktop.

Here's how to rebuild data:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK on the QuickBooks Information window.
  4. Follow the prompt to save a backup.
  5. Hit OK when you see Rebuild has completed.

Once done, run the Verify Data utility tool to make sure there is no problem with your file. To do that, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities and Verify Data.
  3. Click OK if you see QuickBooks detected no problem with your data and continue using your file.
  4. If Verify finds an issue with your data, you’ll be prompted to Rebuild Now or View Errors.
  5. Hit Close.

If the issue persists, I recommend uninstalling and reinstall QuickBooks for Mac using a clean install. This way, we can ensure to have these features are working well.

Please share with me updates on how it goes. I'm always here to help. Have a safe day ahead!
