My accountant is in India. He is unable to enter his mobile phone number?

If you are using QBO US version, your accountant have to use QBO Accountant US version to manage your account. Ask your accountant to contact us in private to help creating an account. 

Does the accountant have to buy the QBO accountant version. Also if I add more than one accounts person it takes it as two different accounting firms. 

Do we hav to buy the QBO accountant version for the US. Also when I add more than one account person to manage the account, it asks me to upgrade.

Since you're using the US version, your accountant will need to have a US version of QBO Accountant. They can actually sign up for free. Then, you can invite them as a Firm user afterward. Normally, you can add 2 firm users to your QBO account.

Your accountant may open the QBO Accountant US version for free. If your accountant access your QBO account as accountant firm, their access will not count as one of your billable users. You can connect up to the following for each product: 1 billable user and 2 accounting firms for QuickBooks Online Simple Start, 3 billable users and 2 accounting firms for QuickBooks Online Essentials, 5 billable users and 2 accounting firms for QuickBooks Online Plus, 25 billable users and 3 accounting firms for QuickBooks Online Advanced.
