My bank account connected to QBO suddenly won't sync. The login information is completely correct. What is the process to get this working again?

Thank you for contacting us, thedrumbrokerllc.

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to ensure your bank will sync again to QuickBooks.

The following information below may clarify the source of the issue:

  • Maintenance on the bank's website
  • Errors when reconnecting the bank to QuickBooks.

To fix this, let's sign in to your financial institution's website. Then, verify the information below:

  • Doing this will help check for messages, notifications, or alerts. Any display or sign-in issues on their site can potentially block QuickBooks from syncing it.
  • Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.

If everything looks good, go to the Banking menu in QuickBooks. Then, manually update to download transactions. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile at the top for the bank account you want to update.
  3. Click Update.

Some errors can also block QuickBooks to connect your bank. You can use the links below on how to get rid of them:

Whenever you see the Report Issue option, select it to notify us of the issue. We'll work on our end to fix the unexpected behavior.

You can also import transactions to QuickBooks using a CSV file format. Just download them from your financial institution. This will help bring them into your account. Let me show you how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Follow your instructions on how to save transactions to your computer.
  3. After that, go to the Banking menu in QuickBooks.
  4. Choose the bank where you want to upload the file.
  5. Click the Update ▼ arrow, then select File Upload.

  6. Select Browse to attach the downloaded file, then click Next.

  7. On the QuickBooks account ▼ drop-down, select the account where you want to upload the transactions.

  8. Match the columns on the file, then click Next.

  9. Select Let's go once ready.

After that, you can then match and categorize those entries. Please refer to this article for more details: Download, match, and categorize your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Leave a comment below on how this goes. I'm happy to help you out.

Let me show you where the update button, @akalata.

The Update button is at the upper-right corner of your Banking page. Let me show you how to perform a manual update to get the latest available transactions from your online banking account.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Banking menu and go to Banking menu.
  2. Select the bank account.
  3. Click on the Update button.

This updates your bank and credit card transactions. After pulling up new transactions you can now categorize and match online bank transactions in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

In case, you don't have this option, then you can clear your browser's cache or try using other browsers. See this article for detailed guidance: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.
