My QB crashes when trying to view a transaction in the reconciliation Discrepancy report. Anyone else encounter this?

Good day to you, @randall-mcarthur.

I’ve checked here on my end and find no related cases of your issue. Don’t worry though, I have the steps that we can perform to isolate this.

Cache stored for some time can cause uncommon behavior to the browser. Thus, it can hinder the performance of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. To confirm this, let’s access your account on a private window (incognito).

You may use these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you’re using:

  • If you're using Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • If you're using a Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Once you’ve logged in to your account via a private window, try to view the transaction in your reconciliation Discrepancy report to double-check. If you’re able to view it, then we’ll have to clear your regular browser’s cache. This will resolve the issue and make your browser to function efficiently.

If it still crashes, I suggest using other browsers instead. This way, we can roll out the possibility of a browser-integrated issue.

Additionally, to ensure we reconcile your accounts effectively, check out this article for reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

You’re always welcome to post in the Community space whenever you have other concerns reconciling your account. I’d be more than happy to help you resolve it. Keep safe, and stay well.
