New user I added clicks the link in the invitation email, but did not go to the standard Welcome screen and could not set a password?

Letting your new user accept the invitation is my priority, @j2dor.

 

It's possible that the browser where your new user accepts the invitation had an issue. Let your new user accept the invitation using a private (incognito) browser. This way, we can check if it's a browser data issue.

 

First off, let your user click the link to his original browser. Then, it'll open a new tab and copy the URL. Once done, use a private browser and paste the URL, then let him try to accept the invitation from there.

 

Here's how they can open a private browser based on the browser they are using:

 

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
  • Press Command + Shift + N for Safari

If they get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different one.

Thanks for the suggestions Mark. The new user tried both private and different browser without success. We are going to get a new email address for her in case there is some conflict from her previous use of QuickBooks for another client from that email account. But we have to wait for the email account to be set up. Do you have another suggestion while we wait?

I appreciate you and your new user performing the troubleshooting steps I shared above. Since using a private and different browser doesn't work, I highly suggest reaching out to our Phone Support Team. This way, they can further check on this matter and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed. They can also create an investigation ticket if other users aren't able to set up a password with the email invitation.

In addition, please know that inviting users with the same email address used in the previous QuickBooks account will never affect the invitation.
