I'm glad you've reached to us. Allow me to help and guide you on how to change the wrong account to your owner's equity in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac (QBDT).
One possible reason is that you select the incorrect account on the account category section. To fix this, you can run a simple P&L report and Owner's Equity and make sure to select the Equity type in the account category.
