Primary User

I am needing to change the email of the primary user, who is actually myself.  It will not allow me do so.  Therefore, I cannot login because it is automatically bringing up an old email address/user name to login.

I see this is your first question so let me take the time to welcome you here to the Intuit Community, @mrobynmc.

 

I'm here to help change/update your email address associated with your login information.

 

Just to confirm, do you still have access to your old email? If so, here's how to change/update it:

 

1. Log in to My Account.
2. Select your product/service in the Manage your QuickBooks page, then click the drop-down arrow at the top right beside the company name.
3. Choose Edit Login, then go to the Profile tab.
4. In the Email address field, click Edit and enter your new email address in the Email address and Confirm email address field.
5. Enter your login password in the Password field, then Save. This sends a verification email to your new email address.
6. Open the verification email on your email's inbox, then select Verify my email.
7. Once you see the prompt Email address verified, choose Continue to complete the email change.

 

On the other hand, if you no longer have access to that email, you can submit an email change request. This process normally takes 3-4 hours to complete.
