Join nowHello,
I am in the process of switching my QB Desktop to QB Online and my question is,
if I already have an existing QB Online company that I am using do I need to create another QB Online company to import my QB Desktop company?
I would like them to be under one.
Hello @Awalker,
QuickBooks will replace any existing data during the conversion process. However, you can use the same QBO login credentials to sign in to your account.
Here's an article that'll walk you through the process: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
I'll also share with you this awesome article about your first hour with QuickBooks Online which I'm sure you'll find helpful. It has steps that'll guide you to make sure that by the end of the hour, everything in place and ready to handle the account tasks for your business.

It depends on how many company file you have. If you have 2 different businesses, you should open a second QBO account prior to migrate you data.

Otherwise, you need to utilize a 3rd party tool to merge the data. i.e TPExporter for Desktop, TPImporter for Online.
