QB Enterprise - Can I merge 2 different company files into 1 company file?

I currently have 2 separate company files:  Company A (QB Pro 2017) and Company B (QB Enterprise).  I'd like to only have one company file in QB Enterprise, using "classes" to separate data from Company A and Company B.

I don't want to use the Enterprise Reporting feature, but would like one company file to start maintaining data from now on.  I'd also like to import 2 years worth of data including: Banking transactions, invoices with multiple line transactions, customer payments, bills & bill payments.

Is this possible?  If so, how would it be done?

Thank you!

Let me help guide you in the right direction, @kathyh.

Currently, there isn't a way to merge different company files into one. However, you have the option to import lists or transactions from one company to another.

You can check this article to find out more about the import using IIF files: Tasks you can do with IIF files.

These files make it easier to transfer data to and from different platforms. To get started, you can refer to this article for some samples: IIF Overview: import kit, sample files, and headers.

I'd also like to include this helpful blog about class tracking in QuickBooks in case you need it in the future: How to use class tracking in QuickBooks.

If you have follow-up questions about the import, do let me know. I'm here to help.

hi @kathyh ,

If you are not familiar with IIF, you may explore TP Desktop.
