Hello, @office163.

Let's ensure that your QuickBooks software is updated to the latest version. Once completed, let's re-sync your payroll subscription by re-validating your service key.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Employees menu.
  2. Scroll down and hover your mouse on My Payroll Service
  3. Select Manage Service Key

The QuickBooks Service Keys window will pop up. You'll want to highlight the current service, and click Edit. Verify your service key on the new popup window, then hit Next. Follow the prompts, then click the Finish button. It'll take a moment for QuickBooks to re-sync your payroll subscription. Once completed, you'd want to run payroll again.

After processing it, you can visit this article to help you keep track of the current pay period's payroll expenses: Customize payroll and employee reports.

Let me know if you have other questions. I'm always here to help.

My credit card had been needed to be replaced, I added new info to QB and QB still will not let me reactivate. I am unable to do payroll tonight and  now I am looking for a phone number to get support tomorrow morning.  I have been trying to figure this out for 4 hours. Help. I  have the latest version, just purchased QB and Payroll  in March 2020 and have been a QB customer for many years

Good day, hammerchiro.

I'm here to assist you in updating your subscription.

We may encounter this error if QuickBooks is unable to recognize your billing details or there's an issue with it. Let's visit the camps.intuit.com and see if your subscription is updated already. From there, you can also see the status of your subscription and update it from there if needed.

If everything looks good, we can revalidate your service key. This way, QuickBooks Desktop will be able to recognize your updated billing information. You can follow the steps shared by IamjuViel on how to revalidate it.

Additionally, always make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop and payroll tax table are both updated. I've added more links for more details on how to renew your subscription:

Please post again here if you need anything else. Wishing you all the best!
