Let me share details of why you're unable to prepare an accountant's copy using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac, @Rawlinson. This way, you can manage your data accordingly.
Creating an Accountant's Copy is the best method if your accountant needs to review your books and continue working on your company file at the same time. However, the QBDT for Mac (older version) doesn't have an accountant’s copy feature. You'll have to share your file with your accountant, but you won’t be able to work on it until they send you back the Mac version of your file.
To do this, here's how:
- Open the company file you want to share.
- Choose File, then Save File for Accountant.
- Click Verify (recommended) or Skip Verify.
- Once QuickBooks tells you that the verification is successful, name the converted file and navigate to where you want to save it.
- Click Save.
- Select OK.
