QuickBooks Desktop

I have used Desktop since 2011. I now have Pro 2018 and my books are up to date through 08/31/2019. I sold my portion of the business to my son and his father and they went with an accountant/bookkeeper that just didn't work out. They want me to take over the books again and the accountant finished 2019 in her Desktop. I still have the original. They are requesting the last four months of 2019 from her. How do I integrate the four months she provides? Do I have to purchase the accountants desktop or will there be a way to download the transactions into my existing Desktop? If it's not possible to integrate the two, I need to find a way to at least view her work. I can update the four months manually. Thank you for any insight anybody may have!

Hi there, jenawynn. Thanks for posting in the Community forum.

You can import the transactions on your existing QuickBooks Desktop account so you can integrate the files to the original.

Here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Sign in to your company file as Admin.
  2. Switch to Single User mode.
  3. Tap the File tab at the top menu bar.
  4. Choose Utilities.
  5. Select Import.
  6. Click IIF Files.

Take a look at this article for more information about this process: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

@jenawynn

DO NOT try import mentioned by @MirriamM , the iif file does NOT include transactions.
