Join nowI use QB Pro 2019 to maintain 4 of our LLC businesses books. I use the desktop version at our primary residence. We are transitioning to another home for a week or two each month and have purchased a laptop to maintain our books. We back up our home QB files every few days to an external hard drive. Ideally, I thought I would leave the data files on the PC at home, back up to the laptop each time we leave and then back up to the PC when we return home. There MUST be a better way??
How to best do this?
Thank you

Yes, a couple of ways that will work if you have good/fast internet connections in both locations:
- Host your QB installation and file online, such as with Right Networks. This is the expensive option. Probably more than you need.
- Cheaper, install remote access software on both computers and then remote into your home computer and use QuickBooks from your other house.
Here's a review of top remote access software:

RemotePC looks promising. It's usually just $40 a year and they're offering the first year for just $4.

You may deploy a private cloud to access your file in multiuser mode.
Thank you! I downloaded RemotePC and it seems to be very simple. The picture resolution on the laptop is horrible when accessing my home computer though... I can read the numbers on the register etc but it is very blurry? The price was right though!
Try setting the monitors' resolution on both computers to the same setting, or close. That may help.
