Banking error 103 I can log in on bank with same username and password. only Quickbooks can't log in

Glad you visited our forum, @chrisjcubellis,

 

There are a few reasons why you’re prompted with Error 103 in QuickBooks Online. Consider this:

  • The bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Log in credentials set up in QBO doesn't match with the online banking log in.

If the account is already connected, let's try refreshing your bank connection in QuickBooks. Follow the steps below if you recently made any changes to your bank login:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Find the account that generated Error 103.
  3. Click on the pencil icon.
  4. Hit the Edit sign-in info.
  5. Input your log in credentials, then click Update.

Also, updating your account manually can help resolve common banking issues. Perform the steps below:

 

  1. From the left toolbar, select the Banking menu and tap the Banking tab.
  2. Click to highlight the account you're updating, then hit the Update button.

For first time connection, refresh the connection by performing the steps below:

 

 

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu and choose the Banking tab.
  2. From there, click the Add Account button.
  3. Enter your financial institution’s URL or name on the search box and see the results.
  4. Select the bank and click Continue
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your bank account.

If you keep getting the same problem, I highly recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Care Team. They can check if there are similar reports from other users and help open an investigation on this unexpected behavior. Here's how you can get our contact information:

It didn't work....Also I couldn't update my account manually. 

QBO doesn't match with the online banking log in.

I've got another solution, @chrisjcubellis.

 

There are cases wherein some of the banks have multiple names in QBO. Be sure to select the correct link when logging in.

 

Here's what you can do:

  1. Click on the Banking tab and select Add account in the top-right.
  2. Open a new tab in your browser, and head to your bank's website. You'll want to be on the first log-in screen you use to access your account. Make sure you're logged out. Once you are, copy the URL from the top of the page.
  3. Go back to your QBO account. Paste the URL into the search bar. This will ensure that you're connecting to the correct extension.
  4. Sign in again using your bank’s login credentials.
