Hi @accountingmanage,

I'll take care of this query about banking for you.

When you record bank deposits, ensure you select at least 1 transaction, or you'll get the error message you stated above. Usually, there would be another message right under that, which provides more detail to the issue. For example, take the situation I mentioned, it will have an error message "Something's not quite right. Please enter at least one line item."

As for importing bank transactions by hand, I suggest you take a look at this article: Import bank transactions using Excel CSV files. It lists 2 templates that are compatible with QuickBooks Online (QBO), as well as other things to follow, so your import process goes through without any issues.

If you encounter issues along the way, view this article: Common errors for importing bank transactions using CSV. It lists the common causes of import problems, along with steps on how you can resolve them.

I'll be around in case you need further help. Place a comment below, and I'll get back to you.

Batch transaction has a new function for bank deposit, when I record 1 or more transaction in it shows: "Something's not quite right, Please retry." and  the "import CSV" bar doesn't work now.

This can be because of your browser's piled up cache, @accountingmanage.

Normally, you can save your bank deposit even if you selected one or more transactions. To fix this, please log in to your account using a private window. This can help us determine if it's a browser-related issue due to stored cache. Below are the shortcut keys you can use to access one:

  • Ctrl+ Shift + N for Google Chrome A63.PNG.
  • Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox A64.PNG and Microsoft Edge A65.PNG.
  • Command + Shift + N for Safari A66.PNG

Then, perform the same task again. If it works fine, clear your browser's cache to delete the cache files that cause unusual QuickBooks Online responses. If the issue persists, you can use another supported browser instead.

For your second concern, please ensure to use the correct format or mapping when importing CSV files. Otherwise, QuickBooks Online (QBO) won't be able to read your data. To resolve this, you can refer to this article: Fix errors when importing CSV.

If you got the same outcome, please perform the said task using a private browser or other supported window. You can refer to the steps and shortcut keys outlined above for your reference.

Once everything's good, you'll want to pull up the Deposit Detail report to keep track of all your deposits, with the date, customer or vendor, and their amounts. Just go to the Reports menu, and select the said report from the Sales and customers section.

Also, you can categorize and match your entries to make sure they're accounted for correctly and prevent any duplicates. Then, reconcile your account to ensure the accuracy of your books.

I've got your back here in the Community if you have more questions about managing your transactions in QBO. Just add a comment below so I can assist you further. Take care and have a nice day, @accountingmanage.

I'm here to ensure you can import your bank deposits in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @accountingmanage.

I appreciate the screenshot you've shared. It seems that you haven't entered any transactions that's why the Import CSV button is greyed out. You'll want to make sure you enter a bank deposit first.

If the Import CSV button is still greyed out after entering transactions, I suggest following the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague ReyJohn_D above. That way, we can check if it's a browser issue.

If you get the same result, I recommend contacting our Phone Support Team. One of our support agents will investigate this matter further and help you import your bank deposits.

To reach them, click the ? Help button at the top-right corner and select Contact Us to talk with a live agent.
