Can I export a Quickbooks file from Quickbooks Online?

Glad to see you here in the Community, @rhix.

I can help you export data from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

First, we need to make sure your security settings in Internet Explorer and QBDT are set up properly. I'll guide you how:

How To Set Up Internet Explorer:

  1. Right-click the Internet Explorer icon and select Run as administrator.
  2. Click the Gear icon, and then select Internet options.
  3. Choose Security, then Trusted sites Sites.
  4. Add *.intuit.com to the zone field.
  5. Make sure Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone is unchecked.
  6. Close the Trusted Sites window.
  7. Uncheck Enable Protected Mode.
  8. Click Apply, then Okay. Leave Internet Explorer open.

How To Set Up QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon and select Run as administrator
  2. Go to the File menu, and then select Close Company.
  3. Leave QuickBooks Desktop open while you complete the rest of the steps.

Now that you've got your security settings ready, you can now prepare to export your QuickBooks Online data. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Tools, select Export data.
  3. Click Learn more in the Moving to QuickBooks Desktop section
  4. In the Download company data section, click Learn more.
  5. Choose to Get started.
  6. Select Install ActiveX Control now and follow the steps to install ActiveX.
  7. Once done, click Continue.
  8. Select the data you want to export and click Continue.
  9. Review the limitations and click Continue.
  10. Enter your contact information and then Continue.

To finish exporting your data, you can check this link under step 4Export and convert your QuickBooks Online data to QuickBooks Desktop.

I've also added this article about what will happen when converting a company file: Limitations when you convert from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.
