Can't seem to log in? Logging into QBO and I'm getting "Not Found" "You are not authorized to see this page". Anyone else have this problem?

Good day, @billing6.

Welcome to the Community. I'm here to help ensure you can log in to QuickBooks Online.

This issue usually happens if you're encountering bugs when trying to load a website. Clearing the cache in a browser helps fix this. Let's confirm first using your browser's private window. Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N.
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P.
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P.
  • Safari: press Command Shift N.

If you logged in successfully, we can go ahead and clear the browser cache to get a clean slate for your browser. Let me route you to this helpful article for the steps: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser.

You can also use a different browser since every browser uses a different cache storage folder on your computer.

As always you can contact us for help if you still can't log in to QBO. Our Online Care Support can pull up your account in a secure environment to further isolate the issue with the help of their tools.

Please don't hesitate to reach out again if you have other questions about logging into QBO. I'm here to help.

I receive this error just as often when running the Quickbooks App as when using a browser...so clearing a browser cache doesn't help.

Hello TaxCatSC,

Though cache is one of the factors that we look at when issues occur, we also need to look on the other side. System, browser, and application updates might also contribute on the issue. Thus, I'd recommend keeping them updated. You can reach out to your IT personnel if you need assistance with this.

I also have a workaround that might work for you. We can click the I forgot my user ID or Password link in the sign in page. Not because we forgot the password, but to refresh your account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the QBO sign in page.
  2. Click the I forgot my user ID or Password link.
  3. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  4. Log in to your email provider and look for the reset email.
  5. Click the correct user ID or the Reset password button.
  6. Enter your current password. You can change it if necessary.
  7. Click Reset password.

If the same thing happens when you log in, I'd recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They'll review your account and further investigate this issue.

  1. Go to this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Accountant, or QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
Disclaimer: These choices won't ask you to log in to your account.
  3. You might be prompt to Continue as a guest. If it does, you can select any of the versions.
  4. Go to the first section and click Search for something else.
  5. Enter the details of your concern and click Search.
  6. Go to the second section and select how you want to reach them (phone or chat).
  7. Ask the representative to route you to the correct department (QuickBooks Online).

If you have other things you need help with, please let us know.
