Forgot password for company file on quickbooks mac not working

For QuickBooks Mac 2016 contact Intuit Data Services.  They can reset your password over the phone.  Don't use a third party tool - who knows what they are doing!

Newer versions (2019 and 2020) can reset your password without calling. 

No they can't - I'm stuck in Migrated Administrator Password purgatory.  I've know this password for years and it is not recognized and it hasn't been reset.  I updated the license, reinstalled the software and when I click "forgot password" it says I'm not licensed.  The $300 charge on my card says otherwise...very frustrating.

I want to make sure you can log in to your QuickBooks Mac, Charcreate.

I'd suggest reaching out to Intuit Data Services for an agent to reset your password. Here's how:

1. Visit our website.
2. Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
3. Click Using QuickBooks for Mac, then select Get Phone Number.
