If the problem continues after following the steps provided by @Fiat Lux - ASIA, I recommend opening a sample company file. It'll help us determine the cause of the problem within the program.
Here's how:
- Open QuickBooks Desktop.
- Select Open a Sample File.
- Choose one of the sample companies.
- Follow the steps to create a portable company file, then save it on your Windows desktop.
- Click the File menu at the top and select Close Company/Logoff.
- Follow the steps to open the portable company file you created in the sample company.
For future reference, visit the Fix portable company file issues in QuickBooks Desktop article. It contains the detailed steps about the troubleshooting steps.
If there’s anything else I can help you find in QuickBooks Desktop, post a comment below. I’m here ready to assist further. Have a good one.
