I'm with you. Getting logged into Community Support to ask questions and be a part of a conversation is soooooooo frustrating.
I have Desktop Pro 2019.
Click on the life raft
Takes me to Quickbooks Help
Click Community Home - Welcome to the Quickbooks Community
Hover over Sign In - Go to Desktop
Sign In Page comes up - input Username and Password
Take me to Manage you Quickbooks
Have the choice of Quickbooks Destop or Quickbooks Payments - not what I want
Have tried using Help
Click on Support - and it takes me right back thru all of the crap above.
Continually WILL NOT and CANNOT take me to the Support/Community Section so I can ask questions.
I've even gone to the emails I've received and it takes me right back here. Trying to get to Support, software constantly crashing, constantly freezing and then taking forever to catch up with itself, there has got to something better.
I've spent 30 minutes trying to log into the Community and I've finally been able to find this - UGH!!!
Hi there, @
I appreciate you for performing the steps so you can log in to the QuickBooks Community page.
Let's access the website by using supported browsers. Then, follow the steps listed below to sign in to your account and post questions from there.
It's also important to upgrade Internet Explorer so you can keep online and offline processes working correctly with QuickBooks Desktop.
Should you need anything else, please let me know. I'll get back to you.
Using this method --
Go to this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/upgrade_browser/.
Both Chrome and IE are updated
Select your QuickBooks subscription.
No option for this
Click Continue as a guest.
No option available
Select your QuickBooks Desktop version.
No option available this way
Click Search for something else, then enter a brief discussion of your concern.
No option available
No option available
Scroll down and click the Ask the Community link.
No option available
If I use my Desktop software - remember as I go thru this, I am not Signed In
Find articles, tutorials, video, and more
Dropdown is available - I click on QuickBooks Desktop
I'm looking for PO information so I click on
Inventory - Manage Inventory
This takes me to Articles
I try to sign in at this point
Hover over Sign In
Click on Desktop
Sign In Screen opens
Input username and password
Takes me directly to screen -
Manage your QuickBooks with the option to click on QuickBooks Desktop - which is just the software information, change password, etc.
Or the option of Quickbooks Payments
I should be able to click on Help>Support and then go to Community, be able to log in so I can ask questions and be a part of discussions. Nowhere in QuickBooks Desktop is this an option.
I have had to save an email, and reply to someone in order for this to log me in automatically so I can use the Community. And this is not guaranteed.
As I write this, I am not logged in, I have to click post before I am logged in and this is not thru Quickbooks. This is a window open in Chrome.
Before I forget
This reply post is under carefreeemb, but as you can see from my original reply post, it is AZEmbroider, which is what it should be.
I have a supported browser and still can't figure out how to log in. This used to be very easy and now QB has changed the interface and it is now confusing and almost impossible to find where to log in. Can you provide a direct link to the Community? I have the same problem that so many others have documented here. For those of us with desktop software and no online software account we just need a simple button to login to the community or if you can provide us with a direct URL to the login that would be great. At some point I discovered I was finally logged in but couldn't repeat the process later on. Once logged in it's virtually impossible to figure out how to get to your profile then I released that I don't have a profile picture so it shows up as a ? icon rather than a more clear icon that shows my user name or says "you" or something like most every other system uses.
At least I'm not the only one having this issue. I have a couple of the email notifications with directions on how to log in. The very first direction in them is:
Log in to Community
Really?? How in the heck can I do this???? This is what so many of us are having an issue with.
I see this has me listed as carefreeemb when I hover over the icon next to the American Flag. Where did this come from? Is this a default thru my desktop QuickBooks? I did an account under AZ Embroiderer some time ago. The top right of my screen has Sign In, so I know I'm not really signed in. I've looked at all my username/passwords I have for QuickBooks, and I don't have this written down anywhere.
I've had to again click on a link in an email just to get here. And this in Chrome. WHY can't I get in thru QuickBooks itself? I've come to the conclusion, signing in thru Quickbooks is not an option. I'm only be able to get to the conversation I've started with. When I click Community at the top of the page and try to get to the rest of the Community, I go back to not being able to sign in.
Yes! That "Sign In" at the top right next to the phone number is very confusing. Check the screenshot I attached if it's possible to view it. I noticed that right now as I'm logged in and typing this it says "Sign In" as if I'm not signed in, but yet I am. What's super confusing about the interface is that it seems to have two layers - one above the pale gray line and one below it. The top line seems to be a separate level of signing in (Quickbooks Online maybe???) and then below that gray line where it shows the options to change country in the far right side of the screen is a separate level. They need to go back to the UX team and think about how to clearly indicate login status to both levels. But first and foremost they need to do some user testing to see if users can successfully login with efficiently, effectiveness, and satisfaction (criteria for usability as defined by ISO) to the support/community when they only use the Desktop version and don't have a Quickbooks Online software account.
I'm here to lend a hand in signing in into QuickBooks Community website. Let's get this sorted out.
To be able to sign in to QuickBooks Community, you can hover your mouse to Sign In option at the upper right on your screen and click QuickBooks Support. You'll be routed to the Sign In page and ask to enter your Community credentials.
Or, you can go directly to this link: https://accounts.intuit.com/service-provider-sso?offering_id=Intuit.sbe.salsa.default&resume=/idp/aU....
Once you're logged in, you'll see your name behind the US flag and the Sign In option above is for QuickBooks Support Products.
In case you want to know some "How do I" steps in QuickBooks Online, you can always visit our Help Articles page for reference.

Don't hesitate to drop a reply below if you need more help in signing in into QuickBooks Community. I'll be around to make sure you're logged in.
We're not sure what you are saying here regarding the browser check at https://quickbooks.intuit.com/upgrade_browser/
We have approved browsers (e.g. version higher than 6.1 Safari).
Also, to be clear we're not looking to use QB Online we use the Desktop MAC version. We are just looking for the link to login to the Community.
I appreciate the additional information you've provided, @mac2it.
Let me add some more details about this log in concern.
The steps given by my peer above is the right thing to follow when accessing your account. However, you ave the option to sign in to the Community using this site: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community.
If doing this doesn't make a difference, accessing your account using a private browser. At times, the stored data can cause some odd errors and simply needs to be cleared from the browser.
If it works fine, you can go back to your regular browser and start clearing the cache. This usually resolves such issues, and the links below will help you accomplish that in all supported browsers:
For complete details about this process, you may see this link: Delete or disable cache and temporary internet files in your web browser
If the issue persists after trying these procedures, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care Team, to further investigate this matter.
Please feel free to reach out to me here should you have any additional questions or concerns, I want to make sure you're taken care of. Take care!
Thanks for sending the direct link. Now if they would just clean up the menus to make it more clear when you're logged in it would be helpful. Many users are giving feedback that it shows "sign in" at the top left even after signed in. I now know that this is because you can sign in to different things but it's not immediately clear that you're signed in. Additionally, they have changed the interface to get to actual community questions and answers and the place to post in such a way it's not clear how to get to the questions for desktop.
It's my pleasure helping you out, @mac2it.
I hear you and realize the importance of having a suitable page to visit when it comes to reaching out to our support.
I'd like to let you know that QuickBooks is committed to developing simple, convenient, and easy to access portal that will help our users when it comes to any QuickBooks queries.
Our developers are constantly uncovering ways to improve our services based largely on the feedback received. That being said, I'd encourage you to check out our online blog to be updated with our latest news and updates including our innovations.
I value the thoughts that you've shared and don't hesitate to reach back out if there's anything else you need. Thanks for coming to the Community!
Completely agree with mac2it.
It took me just a bit to get in. Everytime I put in my credentials, I was getting an error. Was using my Support credentials, then my Intuit credentials. Then it finally took my Intuit ONLINE credentials. And this was thru Chrome. Trying to go thru my QB desktop took a little longer. I'd try to sign in, the 3 dots in the top right of the Community window would go and go, then take me right back and then freeze.
Even when I was trying to use the instructions given before RoseMajorie, I wasn't making any headway.
No idea why my credentials I used to use to log in to the Community, and had to setup the first time are no longer used/good.
I still don't understand why it would show carefreeemb when I would hover over the little icon and then not let me sign in.
Some time ago it showed me as Wasshu or something along these lines and I have no idea where this came from.
Hopefully, going forward I won't have any more issues.
Thanks to all for working to help us out.

It seems the problems people are having is not logging in but the interface not being clear that they are logged in and not being able to quickly get to where they want to be. The changes to the interface have made it more confusing and complicated than it was before and difficult to find the needed community pages.
Thanks for joining the conversation and sharing your insights about the Community log in process, @mac2it,
I heard you and I can add a bit more about this topic. The indication that a user is logged on is the profile avatar shown at the top-right section of the Community page. You can find it just below the Sign In option.
To access your profile so you can view and manage your posts, perform the steps below:
Please let me know the results, @mac2it. I'll be here to provide further assistance if you need one. Have a good one!
That's exactly the problem. When we click on that Sign In button upper right while on any of the community page, we get logged in to our QBO account. And from that QBO account there is no way to move to the online community. So it is kind of a dead-end here. I've been struggling with it for long time now.
Following my just-posted above message, now after I posted my message (once I clicked Post) I was logged in to my profile in the community. Very strange.
Thank you for sharing your experience when logging in to QuickBooks Community. I can share with you another workaround on how to log in successfully.
To start with, I'd recommend accessing your account in a private browsing window. Here are the keyboard shortcuts that will help you accomplish this in all supported browsers:
Once able to open a private browser, log in to QuickBooks Community by following the steps below:
I'd appreciate if you'd let me know on how things goes. I'm always here to answer any questions you may have.
