How do I upload my current QuickBooks from desktop to online QuickBooks?

I’ve got you covered in migrating your data to QuickBooks Online.

If you are migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, ensure you still have the supported version of QBDT. Also, the total targets should not exceed 750,000 for it to be converted to QBO. Keep in mind that there may be differences after you move your data.

Then, you may proceed to Step 2. This step will guide you in transferring your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online. Know that you have to determine what specific edition of the product you are using before moving your file. Once you have identified the edition, you may proceed to Step 3, view the video guidelines to prepare your QBO file: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

If your QuickBooks is 2020 version or older, you can move your data to QuickBooks Online with an online tool.

Which QB Desktop year version do you have?

I am using Quickbooks 2004

It's our priority to ensure you can successfully migrate your data to QuickBooks Online (QBO), George.

For  Quickbooks Desktop (QBDT) 2020 version or older, you'll need to move your data with an online migration tool. To ensure you've selected the correct migration tool link for your QuickBooks Desktop version, I've added the exact links below:

• QuickBooks Pro/Premier
• QuickBooks Enterprise
• QuickBooks for Mac
  • Convert your QuickBooks for Mac file to QuickBooks for Windows before you use the tool.

After choosing the correct link, select Get Started, then sign in with your Intuit Account. Once done, I suggest following Step 2 in this article to complete the process: Move your Books to QuickBooks Online with an Online Tool.

Unfortunately your version is ancient. Another option, contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA to upgrade your file.

Can company be uploaded from a flash drive?  My export to online has been trying for hours not finishing.

Can you install the trial version of QB Desktop and open your company file without any problem?

I was able to upload other file to the desktop trial. I have not migrated to online yet but it is on the computer.

Are there any error messages when you try to convert your data to QB Online US version?

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utity to check your file first.
