Hi there, @tazdev10.

When downloading the QuickBooks application, you don't have to create a new account. Instead, you can sign in to your existing QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

The six (6) digit code will be sent to your email address connected to your QBO account. Once the code is entered, you can now process on adding a user through the QBO app from your Ipad.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Manage Users.
  2. Select the Add user button.
  3. Choose the user type you want to create.
  4. Enter the information, like user name and email address.
  5. Then, click Save.

Once done, your new user will receive an email from quickbooks-email@intuit.com to accept the invitation.

I'm adding this article for more details: Add, delete, or change user access.

You might also want to check out this article to learn how many users you can add depending on your plan: How many users can I set up?

I put in the log in information for the user input a phone  #, saw the pop up for the 6-digit code but selected skip thinking I could just do it later.  Then it thought I was logging into a whole new QB account. How do I fix?  Already have an account, this was going to be a limited access user.

Hi there, tazdev10.

We can log in using the Master Admin access instead of the user. It's possible that the user only have limited access that can only be accessed using the browser.

We might want to use a browser and add the user from there, still using the Master Admin log in credentials. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Manage Users
  2. Click the Add user button.
  3. Select the user type and click Next
  4. Manage what access we can give to the customer.
  5. Click Next and then Next again.
  6. Enter their contact information.
  7. Hit Save once done.

An email will be sent to them where they can accept the invite and log in to your account. User types and other ways of managing a user's access are showed in the articles below:

Feel free to get back to us if you need anything else. Have a great day!
