I'd like to run a journal entry report that shows the memo field. How can this be done?

I can help you with running this report, cmiller.

We can pull up and customize the Journal report to view the summary or detailed list of Journal entries according to the criteria you selected on the report. This report also contains a column of the memos and descriptions you added to the journal entry.

You can follow these steps in pulling up the report:

  1. Select Reports from the sidebar menu.
  2. Enter Journal in the search bar, then click the link to open the report.
  3. Hit Customize.
  4. Select the desired reporting date from the Report period.
  5. Under Filter, select Journal Entry from the Transaction Type drop-down menu.
  6. Click Run report.
  7. Under the MEMO/DESCRIPTION column, you can view all the memos and descriptions you added to the journal entry.

You can also memorize this report to save its customization settings.

Thanks for the response, but I feel you are misunderstanding what I mean by "Memo." The "Memo/Description" field actually, is just the description field, at least from what I can tell. See attached for an example of the memo field I am looking for.

I appreciate you for providing us a screenshot and the in-depth details of your concern, cmiller.

The option to show the Memo field details when creating a journal entry in the Memo/Description column is unavailable. At this time, only the details you enter in the Description field will be reflected in the Journal report.

You'll want to include the Memo details in the Description field to show them in the report.

I know how beneficial it is to show both information for Memo and Description to your business. I'll personally share your feedback with our engineers regarding this one.
