I have 3 QBM files that I want to open in QB online. It seems you have to have the desktop version but I don't have that. How can we view these files and run reports?

Hello tweiler,

Thank you for dropping by here in the Community. I can help you show how to view the files and reports from the QBM files.

Yes, you're correct with regards to the three backup files that you have on your end. You'll need to restore them first on the Desktop version of QuickBooks then export the data into QBO.

I'd be glad to let you know that you can download a free trial of our QuickBooks Desktop program and be able to use the latest version for 30-days. For the detailed steps, please visit the article I'm adding on this:

Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop.

If you still need to move your files into the Online version, I'm attaching the support article that'll help you in the future:

Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.

Reach out to me if you need additional guidance with the QBM files, and I'll be sure to get back to you. Wishing you all the best.

hi @tweiler ,

You may install the trial license of QuickBooks Desktop 2019 to open those QBM files.

If you failed to restore the file, you may need additional effort (and perhaps extra cost) to resolve it.
