Hello there, @bberutich.
It's nice to see you again in the Community. I'm here to share some information about the report that you like to pull up in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Currently, QBO doesn't have a report that'll show the time summary for your customers. However, you can pull up or run the time activities by customer detail report and minimize all the details so that it'll only show the total duration and the amount as a workaround.
1. Go to Reports menu at the left panel, then enter time activities by customer detail in the search bar.
2. Choose your preferred date on the Time Activity Date drop-down.
3. Click the drop-down arrow beside the customer's name to minimize all the details.
I also attached a screenshot for your guide.
That should give you the report that you need. Please let me know how it goes or if I can be of additional assistance. I'd be glad to answer if you have any follow-up questions or concerns. Take care and have a great rest of the day!
Thank you for your response. I probably should've been more specific. For example, our company runs a report for all time for the month on all customers. I do what you suggested and I do collapse each customer. It takes about a half hour to collapse all of them. Not too bad, but still there should be a summary report. We also run all time for all active customers and QBO can't handle that - the report is too big and can't be run. I have to break it down and run 10 different reports by selecting about 25 customers for each and then I have to go into each report and collapse each project for each customers. This takes me 4 or 5 hours and I do every month... A summary report would solve all that!
I appreciate you for taking your time in getting back to us, @bberutich.
I can me to provide additional details so you can save more time in generating your Time Activities by Customer Detail report.
With QuickBooks, you can always memorized the customization you've performed on the report you're viewing. Here's how:
Once completed, the customized report will be listed under Customer reports tab. Moving forward, you can visit this tab when running the report on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, this does not solve my problem either as new projects get added every month and closed projects become inactive every month so the "saved" report would need to be updated every month anyway. You can't run a report on all projects because the report is too large for QB to handle. Seems like a summary report is just an easy fix to this. I've been asking for it for 6 years....
