Switching from online to desktop and not all transactions and sales are showing up when comparing reports. What is the issue?

Going from online to Quickbooks Pro 2015, current 2020 year and 2019 year is fine, but going back a few years to 2014 and data is missing from online backup that was restored to desktop. Online has all the transactions, however backup is missing data, any thoughts?

Hi there, mark198.

Since this is a public forum, I'm unable to tell as to what causes the issue. That being said, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team. We have agents there that can take a look at your account and help fix the issue.

Here's how to contact them:

  1. Click the ? Help icon.
  2. Enter, Talk to a human.
  3. Enter a brief description of your concerns.
  4. Select I still need a human.
  5. Click Contact us.

I've also added this article that has the list of limitations when converting to QuickBooks Desktop: Limitations When You Convert From QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm just around if there's anything that I can help. Keep safe!

My first thought is that export from online to desktop is supposed to be to a supported version of desktop. 2015 is 2 years past support.  If you ate going to use desktop on a regular basis you really need to upgrade to a newer version. What you can do to see if this is the issue, is download a free trial of QBDT 2020 and run your export to it. If your data is now there I. QB 2020 that is the problem solved.

Second thought is that data loss may occur. That is why a full set of accrual reports from online and desktop is necessary to compare
