The Sales Tax due does not match the Sale Tax Liability Report for the same period - can anyone help me figure out why?

When I click on "Taxes" - it shows $0 was due for the month. But then I pull the Sales Tax Liability Report and double check that the correct dates are chosen and it shows that $556.37 of sales tax is due.

Let me help you sort this out, katkinson.

I recommend double-checking the month of the sales tax that has a $0 due if it is October. If so, this period won't show on the Taxes but rather in the Upcoming section of the page. This might be one of the reasons there is a discrepancy in the report.

Aside from that, make sure that there are no journal entries or any transactions allocated to the State Tax Liability account. This may affect the Taxes page but not the Sales Tax Liability report.

Though, if everything is correct and the sales tax and the report still don't match, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. One of our representatives can securely look into your account and verify the main cause of this.

Additionally, you can customize your report in QuickBooks. Doing helps you filter the important details that you'd like to see. Then, memorize it for easy access in the future.
