Why is my Self employed subscription ending April 30th when I've filed my taxes? It should be free when filing taxes with quickbooks Does it renew automatically?

Hey Charles_M!

Thank you sooo much!  Here is what my Billing Info says:

As of 1/30/2017, you're subscribed to QuickBooks Self-Employed
Your subscription doesn't cost you anything. Seriously. It's included with your filing fee from TurboTax Live Self-Employed.
Your subscription runs through this tax year and ends: April 30, 2021
So your answer of automatic renewal helped immensely!  From the look of it I don't have to do a thing!  I had called and the person did not direct me to this and said I would have to pay!  Your the best!  If I have problems on May 1st I will let you know but I think everything will be just fine!

Relieved,

Paul Peterson

Why is my Self employed subscription ending April 30th when I've filed my taxes? It should be free when filing taxes with quickbooks Does it renew automatically?

Charles_M,

Question though.  Since it says it ends on April 30th, 2021 will this automatically renew or am I indeed going to have to pay starting May 1st or resubscribe?

Thank you,

Paul Peterson

Hey Charles_M,

Question though.  Will I have to resubscribe on May 1st or will this just roll over?  In other words, after April 30th will I have to pay?

Thank you,

Paul Peterson

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community, @piercedheartart,

All Intuit subscriptions are subject for auto-renewal, so you should be able to get billed once it renews. However, there are instances when that your account will not renew automatically due to the bank not authorizing charges from us.

In that case, if you do not see a draft in your statement for the subscription renewal, you can contact our customer service. We do not ask or disclose any personal information in this page for security reasons.

To contact our agents for billing concerns, follow the steps below in your QBSE account:

  1. Go to the ? Help menu and choose Contact us button.
  2. In the Ask a question (or tell us what's wrong), describe the problem you're having.
  3. Hit Continue then choose your contact options in the Choose a way to connect with us section.

You can also get our contact details here: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

Why is my Self employed subscription ending April 30th when I've filed my taxes? It should be free when filing taxes with quickbooks Does it renew automatically?

Hi Jen,

Thanks for the reply.  I have always gotten a free subscription with my tax bundle so my billing info says my cost is $0/month.  So because I have the tax bundle and it says it is free for me was just making surr it was still free.  It seems I will have to wait till May 1st to see if it renews for free because I have the tax bundle is it still free or if I have to pay.  That is the question I am trying to get answered.  Every year since 2017 I have done nothing and it has carried over with no cost.  Will that happen this time as well?

Hello, Paul Peterson.

Thanks for keeping in touch with us. I'll clarify the free renewal for your subscription.

Looking back to your reply to Charies_M, your subscription will be renewed for free after April 30th. Just to reiterate, the tax bundle will always include a free subscription of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

As what Jen pointed out, you have the option to contact our support for the full details of your subscription. You can follow her steps in reaching out to one of our agents.

We'd like to add the full details here, but we're unable to access sensitive information such as billing.

Need to categorize your transactions for your estimated taxes? Feel free to check out this guide if you need help: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Do you have more questions about your Self-Employed account? Post them here and I'll see what I can do.

Thank you for the clarification!  That is all I was looking for and everyone has been very helpful.  I just needed to know if it was going to be renewed for free or not.  To everyone who has replied to me thank you so much.  It was all very confusing, so ya'll have helped clear the fog so to speak.   When I did call, by the way, there was no clarification.  I was told that on May 1st I would have to start paying, even though I had the tax bundle that included quickbooks for free and I had gotten it this March.  (There was a glitch back in January that said I had to pay but that was rectified)   So they could not give me or did not see all the full details of my subscription.  I called yesterday.  I've gotten a clearer picture by everyone here by posting a question,so thank you once again.  It would have been nice to have someone to talk to who could give me all this info and explain it but after having called Turbo Tax, who told me to call Quickbooks, who gave me a vague answer, this has been the clarification I needed.  Hopefully May 1st will be uneventful!
